Merry Christmas

The Crosby family wishes you all a very merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year!

We will have both sides of the family represented at Christmas dinner tomorrow and Caroline will be exactly 10 months old.

We will miss those who cannot be with us, especially Chuck's sister and her family in NC. Know that you are in our hearts even if you are not with us physically!

Merry Christmas!

9 (+) months

Her 9 month birthday was the day before Thanksgiving and we were doing a lot of running around in prep for our trip to NC. So her 9 months picture was delayed and is officially late.

This month she improved her crawling, got really good at standing and cruising the furniture. She has even more recently been standing on her own for short bits of time.

I also got a major haircut, as you can see from the pictures. Mostly, I like it. It's easy to deal with.

8 months

Hard to believe she's 8 months old. In the past month, she sprouted 2 teeth, learned to pull up and is cruising all over the house/work/wherever.

We could not get her to sit down for her monthly shot - she was everywhere, so standing it is. Notice her two new teeth that popped up the first weekend in October.

Rays Baseball

Chuck and I went to game 2 of the Rays/WhiteSox series (there's a name for it, but please don't mock me for don't knowing what it is... I'm new to this) and we had a lot of fun (thanks, Joslin for hooking us up with the tickets!)

Caroline loved the cowbell we brought her (it makes noise! It's blue!) and when she got a bit sweaty, I pushed her hair into a mohawk and had to take pictures of our new little Rays fan!

Go Bucs!

Chuck won tickets to the October 12th Bucs vs. Panthers game and convinced me to go watch some live football. (I never used to be a football fan - had seen exactly 3 games at the high school or lower level live and all because a friend was playing, so it did take a bit of convincing).

Turns out that a friend of mine was also going to be there - her dad has season tickets. I don't know how she feels about her name going on the internet, so I'll call her "Cherry" like I did when we were kids. It was so much fun to see you and thanks for the pictures!

Our seats were WONDERFUL. And it was a lot of fun. (This shot, taken by my friend, was from the top of the stadium looking down at our seats in the lower section. We were in that low corner there).

7 months

September 25 my baby was 7 months old. I cannot believe it. She is getting so big. (I know I have a better picture than this, but I can't find it)And don't think that it's gotten cool here - I just love this outfit and hadn't gotten her into it yet, so I thought I'd try for her picture before she outgrew it. She was sweating before an hour was up. Oh well. :)

She's been pretty fussy lately and I'm chalking it up to the new stuff - she's beginning to crawl, everyone says she's teething (but they've been saying that for 3 months), etc.

6 and 3 quarters (months)

She is growing so fast lately - it's amazing. She is pretty close to outgrowing her carrier car seat, but while we've purchased the new one, I've delayed in installing it because while I HATE carrying it around, she is going through a phase where she falls asleep in the car almost every time she's in the car for more than a few minutes and it makes it SO easy to keep her asleep by carrying the seat into the house and quickly transferring her into her crib.

She sits up on her own beautifully and LOVES her floppy seat when we go to the store. She is so curious and wants to see and touch and taste everything. She scoots around a lot, but still hasn't figured out the details to the perfect crawl. She can't seem to move her hands forward and often puts herself into a push up position instead of hands and knees. The last day or two, she has done the hands and knees rocking thing, which is really cute.

She is really wiggly, too. We have some trouble changing her on the changing table these days because she keeps wanting to roll over and GO!

We got pictures taken at Penney's recently. They turned out great. I had bought her this sailor dress not long ago and she looked just precious.

Can you tell I got a new camera for my birthday?

She is so curious.

And so happy. (most of the time)

She's really getting into this sitting on her own thing.

I love this picture. She looks like she's doing the splits.

She has been attempting to crawl and has even made one or 2 "steps" in that direction this week. This creeper was a shower gift from a former co-worker, Soraya, and I remember thinking "it's so big! When will she ever fit into it?" Love the cherries on the butt!

She is sitting pretty well now.

Really cute crib pics

6 months

At her appointment Tuesday, our little Caroline weighed in at 17lbs, 10 oz and 25 1/4" long. She was pronounced in perfect health and beautiful by both the doctor and nurses.

It is hard to believe that my little baby is already half a year old! Each day I look at her learning new things and new skills and I am just in awe. Her smile lights me up and her laugh makes me happy.

She took one wobbly crawl this afternoon before collapsing to her tummy. I'm not sure she even realized what she was doing, but she was up on all 4s and she moved her hand the right way to move forward (the thing she's had the most trouble mastering). I'll be visiting a friend for a short bit this Saturday and I'm hoping I can convince her 3 and 5 year old to try and teach Caroline to crawl by example. :-) It will be a good distraction while their mom and I do some work on the computer together, anyway. :-)

Sittin' Up with the Baby

Caroline has begun to sit on her own, though I usually have to put her in position and most times she still has to balance herself with her hands or by holding something in front of her.

I can hardly believe she is 6 months old!
We go to the doc tomorrow, so I'll post her 6 mos update later. As you can see from the pictures, she's happy and amazing.

She got a new walker last week to use. Here she is exploring in it at the cleaners.

In true female form, she has discovered the cell phone and loves it. Unfortunately, she thinks it's for eating, not talking.

She loves the remote, too.
